Novel atopic dermatitis-associated gene and proteins

A gene and/or a protein involved in the prevention or treatment of allergic diseases and dermatitis, in particular atopic dermatitis are provided. An EST fragment comprising the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:1; (a) a DNA comprising the nucleotide sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:2 or (b) a DNA hybridizable with the DNA of SEQ ID NO:2 under stringent conditions and encoding a protein having a DNA binding activity; and a protein encoded by the DNA are also provided. Further, the present invention relates to an antisense nucleic acid to the above DNA sequence; a method of searching for an agent capable of controlling the expression of the DNA or the activity of the protein; and a test reagent and a test method for allergic diseases.
