Synthetic multifilament hotmelt thread spinning and winding process has galette with stepped mantle and thread guide grooves creating speed differential between two galettes

A synthetic multi-fiber spinning process feeds a group of threads to a winding unit via two gallettes separated by a vortex generator. The gallettes operate at different speeds set and adjustable to pre-determined values. One or both galettes has a stepped mantle with a number of guide grooves. The speed differential is esp. set by the choice of different galette diameters. The speed differential is altered by lateral transposition of the stepped galette relative to the other galette. The galettes are interchangeable against galettes of different diameter. The speed differential between the galettes reduces thread tension between the galettes, which have a common drive system and may rotate at the same or different speeds. Also claimed is a commensurate spinning and thread winding assembly.
