An electromagnetic switch operable by short current pulses and retained in the operated position by remanant magnetism has sealed reed contact devices 1 extending between and partly surrounded by yoke members 10 which are also bridged by a permanent magnet 5 and a remanant cone 6 on which the operating coil 7 is mounted. The remanent magnetism assists or opposes the permanent magnet in accordance with the current pulse received by the coil 7 and a magnetic casing 12 provides a flux return path. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 870,906 and 883,430. |
