An electronic report making supporting apparatus for supporting the user to make an electronic report data file holds report templates. A suitable template is selected from among the report templates according to the object of an examination. Bookmark data files are generated at a given time during the examination. Each bookmark data file contains information specifying the examination data concerned. After the examination, the examination data concerned is automatically specified by the bookmark data file, and the examination data is automatically pasted to the report template.
