CARBON NANOTUBE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCTION THEREOF

Carbon nanotubes comprises an outer diameter of less than 500nm and a length of greater than 50nm. The outer region of the wall is an amorphous structure and the inner region of the wall is a crystalline structure. An independent claim is also included for the manufacture of the carbon nanotubes, which comprises: (1) coating a carbon precursor resin on resin particles which disappears on heating; (2) melt spinning the particles of average particle size 10-10000nm and CV value of the particle diameter of less than 30%; (3) performing an insolubilization treatment; and (4) carbonizing.
