Method for producing a printing plate for intaglio printing

In a process to make a rotogravure print form, the image is laser-engraved on especially a chrome-plated form. The form is plated by a galvanic process. Following chrome-plating, the form surface is micro-roughened to a pre- defined micro-roughened state by polishing or grinding. After the laser-engraving process the form is placed in a rotary print press. The engraving process is effected using a number of lasers operated simultaneously. After completion of the printing process, the chrome layer is partly or totally removed from the form. also claimed is a commensurate print form.
