Low-permeability sheath and its use in high pressure conduits

The covering is made from extrudable thermoplastic material for making a barrier impermeable to acid gases. It contains a specific level of at least one chemical filler which can react with acid gases in such a way as to irreversibly stop their corrosive effects. The level is determined as a permeability function of the material. Also claimed is the use of the covering as a barrier in a flexible pipe with a metallic framework for transporting petroleum effluents containing H2S or CO2.
