A vehicle immobiliser circuit which cuts electrical power to either the vehicle's computer, coil, starter or fuel pump (or a combination of two or more of these parts) when the circuit is activated on receipt of a signal transmitted from a telephone to a receiver mounted in the vehicle. The receiver F is supplied with electrical power from the vehicle battery via a voltage stepdown transformer G, which reduces the voltage from the standard 12 volts DC to 6 volts DC which is suitable for the receiver. When a signal is received by the receiver F, power is supplied to a reed relay E causing its activation which, in turn, activates switches in the circuit to cut power supply to one or more key electrical components. The vehicle is rendered inoperable until a further call is transmitted from a telephone to the receiver, which restores the power supply to the disabled parts. Whilst cutting power to one or more key electrical components, the circuit may operate to supply power to an audible siren. |
