<p>A pull down bar for a lat pull down machine has a raised central region such that a user may pull the bar vertically down to shoulder level without the bar interfering with the user's head. The bar may comprise a semi-circular (fig's 13-15) or oval (fig's 1-3) bar with hand grips at each end, a horizontally disposed circular bar with hand grips originating from the rim of the bar (fig's 4-6), an angled or jointed bar with hand grips at each end (fig's 7-9), or a straight bar with vertical attachments at each end (fig's 10-12). Additional supports (a), (b) may be provided between the bar and grips when the bar is a curved bar. The spatial volume created by the raised central portion of the bar is intended to allow a user to pull the bar down vertically to shoulder level without changing his posture or grip whilst avoiding contact between the bar and his head.</p> |
