<p>A locking element (16) in the tubular inner housing (2) has engaging tongues (22) movable between radially inward to engage the retaining collar (24) of tools (6) and outward to release the tool. The locking element is interlocked to move between lock and unlock positions with a manually actutable outer sleeve (34) around the outer housing (4) of the machine. The sleeve (34) is slidable axially around the inner housing and biased in locking direction by spring (38). A retaining ring (30) is interposed between spring (38) and locking element (16). An independent claim is also included for handheld impacting machine.</p> |
