Linear sliding guide, especially for displaceable components of an office chair, comprises at least one play-compensating spring arrangement (11.1) between a longitudinal guide rail and a bearing block (6). The spring arrangement consists of a recess (23) in the longitudinal guide rail or bearing block which is arranged with its cylindrical axis parallel to the flanks in the edge region of the longitudinal guide rail or bearing block and has an inner cross-section that laterally opens toward each flank via a gap (14, 26). The spring arrangement also consists of an elastically deformable spring sleeve (15, 22) inserted parallel to the axis of the recess so that it impinges upon the opposite-lying flanks of the bearing block or longitudinal guide via the gap. An Independent claim is also included for an office chair comprising the above linear sliding guide.
