The hydraulic piston pump has one or more cylinders (23), each with an impeller piston (1). The cylinders have an inflow (13) and an outflow (17) valve, and a spring zone (16). A control roller (3,) to set the pumping volume, is operated by the drive shaft (8) and has an axial sliding movement. A control edge (4) is at the roller circumference with a structure so that, according to the axial position, a bypass drilling (15) in the cylinder is closed or during a pump impelling cycle it is wholly or partially cleared.
