FIELD: metallurgy, namely billet continuous casting processes and equipment. SUBSTANCE: mold includes supporting plates and cooled narrow and wide walls secured to said plates. Narrow plates are in the form of modules with = -shaped cross section; bases of said modules are rigidly joined with ends of wide plates; inner angles of modules are rounded in such a way that adjacent working walls of mold in its cross section are joined by means of second order curve, for example by means of arc of circle whose radius consists 0.07 - 0.50 of small size of cross section of working cavity of mold. EFFECT: enhanced quality of continuously cast billets, improved stability of casting process, high strength of mold, enhanced efficiency of machines for billet continuous casting. 2 cl, 1 dwg |
