PURPOSE: A mobile terminal having a function of transmitting/receiving discrete signals is provided to reduce the power consumption by transmitting and receiving data without an additional device when a user connects a personal computer to a mobile terminal for data communication. CONSTITUTION: A mobile terminal(200) consists of a transmitting unit(330) and a receiving unit(340). The transmitting unit(330) is composed of a discrete signal input port(220), an analog voice signal input microphone(230), an input adjustment control part(210), a voice encoder(240), an input selection part(250), a channel and modulation circuit(260), and an RF transmitting part(270). The input port(220) receives a digital discrete signal inputted from a personal computer and inputs it to an input port of the input selection part(250). An analog voice signal inputted through the voice signal input microphone(230) is converted into a digital signal through the voice encoder(240), and the converted digital signal is inputted to another input port of the input selection part(250). At this moment, in case that a discrete signal is inputted through the input port(220), the input adjustment control part(210) senses it and supplies a selection signal to the input selection part(250). The input selection part(250) inputs the digital discrete signal to the channel and modulation circuit(260). The channel and modulation circuit(260) executes channel coding and wirelessly transmits the discrete signal data through the RF transmitting part(270). |
