PURPOSE: To provide a color filter improved in utilization efficiency of light even in using general white light source, capable of obtaining a clear image and free from decreasing the angle of visibility. CONSTITUTION: In the color filter provided with colored layers 2b, 3b and 4b formed on the substrate 1, fluorescence emitting layers 2a, 3a and 4a having transmitted wavelength region lapping over that of the colored layer in accordance with each of the colored layers 2b, 3b and 4b, absorbing at least a part of light in the light absorbed wavelength region of the colored layer and capable of emitting fluorescence in the region of light transmitted wavelength of the colored layer are formed between the substrate 1 and the colored layers 2b, 3b and 4b. |
