<p><PICT:0947258/C1/1> <PICT:0947258/C1/2> A concave mould for bending glass sheets comprising a centre section 30 with stainless steel shaping rails 31, 32 and two stainless steel end sections 41, 42 pivotally attached to the centre section 30, has attached to each longitudinal extremity portion of one of the rails 31, 32 a flat glass support member 71, 72, 73 or 74 of a material that does not mar heat softened glass located so that its upper surface serves as an outward continuation of the upper shaping surface of rail 31 or 32. The member 71, which is preferably a graphite block, is inset into a rabbeted portion of the rail 31 and secured by a flexible metal strap 79 and a rivet 83 (Fig. 2). The members 71, 72, 73, 74 may be made pivotable as described in Specification 945,278. Conventional heat absorber members 60, 64, 68 are fitted.</p> |
