PURPOSE: A transmission/reception cut-off mode switching method and a mobile phone implementing the same are provided to allow a user to use a mobile phone as a digital watch, a calculator, an alarming device during a business trip in a foreign country where transmission/reception signal is not received. CONSTITUTION: A controller(100) calculates time information selected by a user by reading time information from a timer and obtains current time. A key pad(110) includes numeric key buttons and general buttons, and transmits a user's instruction to the controller(100). The first display unit(120) displays various menu screens, execution screens and result screens. The second display unit(130) displays a digital clock. A timer unit(140) checks and calculates time. A memory unit(150) stores a program for reading time information from the timer and calculating current time when a user changes a mode to a transmission/reception cut-off mode. A wireless circuit unit(160) receives a call or a short message, transmits it to the controller(100) and also transmits data store din the memory unit(150) to a phone of a caller. An audio processor(170) processes recorded voice to data and transmits the data to the controller(100), and processes data received from an external source and outputs an analog voice.
