PURPOSE: A deflection yoke and a method for manufacturing a centering magnet are provided to suppress screen noises caused due to induced voltages by reducing the line of magnetic force generated from the rear end of electron gun side of a horizontal deflection coil and induced voltages generated from a sub deflection coil. CONSTITUTION: A deflection yoke comprises a main deflection yoke and a sub deflection coil(1). The main deflection yoke includes first and second horizontal deflection coils having substantially saddle shapes, and first and second vertical deflection coils. The first and second horizontal deflection coils have first and second coil connection line portions and first and second horizontal deflection portions, respectively. The first and second coil connection line portions are wound in the direction perpendicular to the tube axis of a cathode ray tube along the straight portion of the glass tube of the cathode ray tube. The first and second horizontal deflection portions are disposed in the direction of the tube surface. The sub deflection coil is arranged in the electron gun side of the cathode ray tube.
