PURPOSE: A method for setting a path of a DCS(Digital Cross-connect System) is provided to perform an optimization process for path data, and to remove overlapping data obtaining the same action results, thereby improving system efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A DCS searches paths up to a final end of a switching matrix, and accumulates the searched paths in a queue(ST21). If more than one processing for a path having the same software is produced among path data contained in the queue, the DCS removes overlapping data, and re-contains the path data in the queue(ST22). If path actions going as the same outputs are produced among the path data contained in the queue, the DCS contains a final action only in the queue(ST23).
