Management of car parking with numbered parking spaces, uses local payment collection machine linked to central server which provides release code for wheel clamp

The parking management uses coded wheel clamps (7) to immobilize offending vehicles. The user (0) takes the clamp identification number to an automatic payment station (2) which calculates the payment due, then accepts payment from the user. If payment is correct the information is passed to a server (4) which provides the user with a code (8) that will release the wheel clamp.
