A reflection-type heat and sound insulation sheet (1) comprises a backing (20) of insulating material covered, at least on one large dimension side, with a film (10a, 10b) of metallic reflecting material. The backing consists of graded and needle-punched glass fibers. The glass fibers are made of E-type glass, which renders the backing incombustible. The diameters of the filaments are relatively the same and are 6-13 microns. The thickness of the backing (20) is 6-12 mm. Each metallic reflecting film (10a 10b) is made of aluminum and has a thickness of 20-50 microns. A film of metallic reflecting material identical to each metallic reflecting film (10a, 10b) present on the backing (20) may be located within the backing (20). The backing (20) is crocheted across the film present in the backing (20). An Independent claim is given for the production of a reflection-type heat and sound insulation sheet (1), which comprises producing a backing (20) of insulation material by needle-punching graded glass filaments, and then covering the backing (20) of insulation material, on a least one of its large dimension sides (20a, 20b), with a film of metallic reflecting material (10a, 10b).
