Protectors (32, 34) prevent erosion of production tube ports. They comprise connected sectors (32) assembled around a section (8) of the production tube (6). Each has an associated internal reinforcement (34) penetrating into the section of the production tube through a port (30). Sectors includes openings penetrating them and their associated internal reinforcement. The protectors form an envelope around the production tube. Two locking rings (36, 38) hold them in place, passing through upper and lower grooves in the protectors. The sleeve (18) slides over the sectors, to block their openings (16) to the required extent. Openings in each of the sectors have varied shape. The sectors have a generally annular shape. Their internal reinforcement matches the transverse mounting opening (30) or port, in which they are located. The reinforcement carries a seal acting against the internal wall of this opening.
