The process is for obtaining fusidic acid from a fermentation source and comprises joint separation of bio-mass and of fusidic acid produced by insolubilization in an acid medium followed by extraction with organic dissolvent - immiscible with water and precipitation with a dissolvent with which the fusidic acid is insoluble.
