PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain enhanced detection accuracy of torque. SOLUTION: By setting a magnetostriction material 14 at the top 12a of projected stripes 12, the bottom of recessed stripes 13 or the side of the recessed stripes among the projection stripe 12 and the recessed stripes 13, formed to extend slantingly to the axis direction on the outer surface of a torque transmitter shaft 11, a change in permeability due to stress (stress which is not offset by stress in other portions), which acts independently on the magnetostrictive material 14 of each part, can be detected.
