PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator for a clutch capable of avoiding a troublesome in setting an assist spring when the abrasion of the clutch is compensated. SOLUTION: The actuator rotates a worm wheel 35 in a power assist area to connect/disconnect the clutch. The actuator rotates the worm wheel 35 in a load control area to compensate the abrasion of the clutch. The assist spring 36 for assisting the rotation of the worm wheel 35 has one end and the other end supported on a support pin 35e of the worm wheel 35 and a support wall 38d of a housing 33. When the worm wheel 35 rotates in the load control area, one end (a support base 41) of the assist spring 36 abuts on a regulating wall 38e to regulate its movement.
