PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of adjusting the positions of a flywheel pulse sensor and a camshaft top position sensor for stably determining the zero point of a crankshaft angle in the whole region of engine speed in a prescribed range. SOLUTION: This method comprises a step of (a) detecting the rotating speed of a crankshaft 17 and the output of a camshaft top position sensor 24 by operating an internal combustion engine 2, a step of (b) computing the correction quantity of the relative position of the flywheel pulse sensor 23 and the camshaft top position sensor 24 from the rotating speed of the crankshaft 17 and the output of the camshaft top position sensor 24; and a step of (c) adjusting the relative position by changing the relative position according to the correction quantity.
