PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability of an underwater pump for a deep well which maintains sealability of a switched reluctance motor of a problem in use of the switched reluctance motor in the pump for the well. SOLUTION: The underwater pump for the deep well includes a motor 12 having the switched reluctance motor 12a which maintains sealability and a rotor 20 of which is coupled to a spindle 14, a pump 30 having an impeller 42 having a plurality of blades 42a disposed spirally at a rotary shaft 38 to pressurize water perpendicularly to the shaft 38, and a shaft joint 56 for coupling the spindle 14 of the motor 12 to the shaft 38 of the pump 30.
