PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper making drier canvas which does not cause the breakage of paper due to the slippage of the paper on a cylinder and gives the paper not having a problem on its product quality. SOLUTION: In the paper making drier canvas or needle canvas formed by weaving warps with wefts in a weft double weave or in a weft triple weave, selvage-reinforcing portions 11 are formed on the surfaces of both the selvage portions directly contacting with the cylinder 12 at least on the side contacting with the cylinder 12. The sites directly not contacting with the cylinder 12 on the sides laterally inner from the selvage-reinforcing portions 11 are coated / impregnated with a resin to form resin layers 14, thereby imparting the surface property having a larger frictional force than that of the surface of the canvas main body portion 17. Wet paper 16 is interposed between the drier canvas body portion 17 and the drier 12, carried with the drier canvas 15, and dried. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
