摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for measuring a particle size distribution, which can simply and inexpensively determine the presence or absence of liquid in a measurement system including a sample cell. SOLUTION: In the method for measuring the particle size distribution, which obtains the particle size distribution of an object sample to be measured, a dispersion bath 1 making sample liquid 6 by dispersing the object sample to be measured in dispersion solution is connected to the sample cell 8 through a circulation channel 10, and light excited by projecting light rays 15 from a light source 14 onto the sample liquid 6 in the sample cell 8 is detected. When the light rays are projected obliquely in relation to the sample cell 8, intensity values of transmitted light 25, scattered light 20a, 20b and reflected light 21 emitted from the sample cell 8 are detected, and the presence or absence of the liquid L in the sample cell 8 is judged by using at least one of these detected values.
