PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device and a display system in which adjustment of a display electrode in a display device such as voltage adjustment of opposing electrodes in a liquid crystal display device is easily and efficiently conducted. SOLUTION: A display system 1 consists of an external device 2 and a liquid crystal display device 3. The device 2 is provided with a voltage adjustment signal generator 6. The device 3 is provided with an arbitrary voltage generating IC14. A voltage adjusting signal outputted from the generator 6 is inputted into the IC14. The IC14 electronically adjusts the voltage to be applied to counter electrodes by applying a voltage based on the inputted voltage adjusting signal to the counter electrodes of a liquid crystal panel 16 of the device 3.
