Active/reactive armoring comprises an armor plate (25) and a protective device (23) covering the armor plate on the attack side and arresting hollow charge and/or kinetic impact. A similar second protective device (14) is mounted in front of the first protective device. On reaction of the second protective device to the impact of a projectile a damming device (12, 13) arranged between the protective devices prevents triggering of the reaction of the first protective device so long as this is not exposed to impact. Preferred Features: The first protective device has at least one explosive layer (17, 19) and a damming inert material layer (21, 22) between the explosive layer and the armor plate. The second protective device also has an inert material layer on its side facing the first protective layer, which forms the damming.
