<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile phone capable of quickly and efficiently providing thumbnail pictures by reducing the pictures represented by image data. <P>SOLUTION: The mobile phone generates image data of thumbnail pictures at acquisition of image data and stores the image data of the thumbnail pictures together with the acquired image data. In this case, the mobile phone compresses the image data of the thumbnail pictures in compliance with the JPEG system, stores parameters used for compression but excludes a Huffman table from parameters to be stored.
