<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image correction processing apparatus and program for reducing an image data capacity to a limit capacity being a distribution available data capacity or below without deteriorating the image quality of the face of a portrait in the case of distributing a portrait image. <P>SOLUTION: A YC conversion / simultaneous processing section 206 applies YC conversion to image data of the portrait image and thereafter a face extract processing section 208 extracts a face image area to separate the converted image into the face image area and a non-face image area other than the face. A sharpness parameter decision section 209 decides parameters to weaken the sharpness of the non-face image area more than that of the face image area, and an area dependent sharpness processing section 210 individually applies sharpness processing to each of the face image area and the non-face image area. Thus, the image data wherein the data capacity of the areas other than the face is properly reduced is obtained in a way that the data capacity after image compression by a JPEG compression section 212 is within a distribution capacity limit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
