<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of an organic EL display device of a conventional type that is low in versatility due to luminance irregularity at high temperatures such that it is not applicable to, for example, on-vehicle display. <P>SOLUTION: After forming a cathode 6, a stress relaxing layer 10 is provided thereon. The stress relaxing layer 10 generates a tensile stress when the cathode 6 generates a compression film stress, and generates a compressive stress when the cathode 6 generates a tensile film stress. This prevents luminance irregularity ascribable to the film stress of the cathode 6, and improves versatility of the organic EL display device of this type. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
