PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polling transmission control method that varies the number of information exchange times with the same terminal into an optimum number of times depending on good / bad accuracy of information exchange, that is, the propriety of a state of a signal line and a communication line when a multiplex transmission signal processing means exchanges information with each terminal and supervises the state of the terminals so as to avoid a wasteful increase in the supervisory time while keeping the transmission reliability. SOLUTION: When a main microcomputer discriminates a return signal from a sub microcomputer to be defective on the way of cyclicly executing inquiries to respective sub microcomputers by a preset number of duplicate times, the method is characterized in that the main microcomputer increasingly changes the number of duplicate inquiry times to the sub microcomputer after that more than the preceding duplicate number of times and cyclicly continues the inquiries.
