PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cold forming tap equipped with a guide, which machines a female screw with little wobbling even in a blind hole, by shortening the length of a guide portion. SOLUTION: The cold forming tap 1 has a chamfer portion 3 consisting of the guide portion 5 having its outer diameter conforming to the diameter of a prepared hole, and a cold forming portion 6 having a tapered shape. By virtue of the structure of the cold forming tap 1, even in the blind hole which is small in allowance with respect to the depth of the prepared hole and the depth of the female screw, screw machining causing little wobbling between the prepared hole and the female screw is achieved.
