PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an FSW machine capable of constantly holding a pressure for bobbins to clamp base materials, even if the base materials to be welded are not perfectly flat. SOLUTION: The friction stir welding machine is equipped with a head (8) that is rotated around the center axis (8b), a first bobbin (9) that comes into contact with the front face of workpieces (W, W') to be welded, a second bobbin (12) that comes into contact with the rear face of the workpieces (W, W'), a probe (11) that is installed coaxially with the center axis (8b), penetrates the first bobbin (9) and the workpieces (W, W') and is joined to the second bobbin (12), and clamping mechanisms (10, 14) that clamp the workpieces (W, W') with the first and the second bobbin (9, 12) by applying a force to the probe (11). The first bobbin (9), the second bobbin (12), the probe (11) and the clamping mechanisms (10, 14) are movable in the direction parallel to the center axis (8b) and are held on the head (8) so as to rotate together with the rotation of the head (8).
