PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television receiver having a function for restricting the audience of the receiver, if audience requirements are not observed. SOLUTION: The television receiver 1 has a person's position detector 2 composed of an IR sensor on the front. The detector 2 detects IR from a human body to transmit information of its position to a controller 4. The receiver comprises an optical detector 3 composed of an optical sensor for detecting the luminous intensity of a room to transmit information of the room's luminous intensity.
