A kidney shaped container (1) with a rectangular cross section has to be produced with internal dimensional tolerances of 0.15 mm. The walls (8), top (2) and bottom (3) are of stainless steel and the container holds a roller (5) which has to be free to move inside it. Slots (7) with accurate dimensions are cut in the top and bottom, the container is assembled and joined together by laser welding along the seams (4).
