The device has a strong current coil (31) and a weak current coil (32) coupled in parallel. A switch (30) is provided to simultaneously induce the coils for moving HID single light emitting point from a near light position to a far light position. The strong coil is interrupted at end of a time period set in a timer circuit (37) so that only the weak coil is actuated to maintain the emitting point in the far light position. An Independent claim is also included for a method for switching HID single light emitting point lamp tube switching device.
