The invention relates to herbicidal agents that contain A) at least one compound selected from the group of the hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase inhibitors and B) at least one compound selected from the group, B-a) of the herbicides that are selectively effective in cereals against monocotyledonous and/or dicotyledonous harmful plants, B-b), of the herbicides that are selectively effective in maize against monocotyledonous and/or dicotyledonous harmful plants, B-c) of the herbicides that are selectively effective in rice against monocotyledonous and/or dicotyledonous harmful plants, B-d) of the herbicides that are non-selectively effective on non-cultivated soil and/or selectively effective in transgenic cultures against monocotyledonous and/or dicotyledonous harmful plants. The inventive agents have an effect that is superior to that of said herbicides when used individually.
