<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide aqueous ink for inkjet recording that has excellent consistency in ink properties with respect to time, can be jetted consistently for a long time, and can furnish high-quality recording. <P>SOLUTION: This aqueous ink for inkjet recording comprises self-dispersing water-insoluble colorant particles, a compound represented by formula (1), a surfactant having a nitrogen atom in a molecule, water, and a water-soluble organic solvent. It has surface tension of 30-50 mN/m, and the change rate of the surface tension when stored at 60°C for two weeks is less than 5%.
