<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical information recording medium having high sensitivity, excellent repetitive recording durability and excellent shelf stability. <P>SOLUTION: The optical information recording medium which has a substrate, a recording layer, a protective layer containing sulfur, an interface layer adjacent to the protective layer, and a reflection layer adjacent to the interface layer and consisting essentially of Ag, and which is characterized in that the interface layer consists essentially of Nb and/or Mo, is used.
