PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner excellent in dispersibility of a pigment and capable of giving a good image. SOLUTION: The toner comprises at least a pigment and a binder resin, and a filtrate obtained by filtering a dispersion prepared by dispersing 0.2 g of the toner in 100 ml of tetrahydrofuran with a filter having a pore size of 0.45μm has the maximum absorption at 640-680 nm and an absorbance of≥0.2 when measured with a spectrophotometer.
