PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preform molding technique which is effective for the rational molding of a projection on the molding surface of a preform. SOLUTION: With regard to a preform forming mold for use in the molding of the preform, it is made possible to be changed over into the first state in which a recessed shape corresponding to the projection is formed by a pair of movable blade pieces 152 and the second state in which an expanded shape is formed by expanding the opening width between the movable blade pieces 152. When a spraying material is sprayed on the preform forming mold, by setting the preform forming mold to the second state, glass fibers which are hardly received in the space between the movable blade pieces 152 in the first state can be received surely. By changing over the preform forming mold succeedingly from the second state to the first state, the spraying material received in the space between the movable blade pieces 152 can be molded into the shape corresponding to the projection.
