PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera system, a camera, and a lens apparatus capable of solving such a problem of the prior arts that a vague and unclear moving picture is recorded because of the occurrence of out of focus with respect to a subject when a lens for still picture photographing is loaded to a camera for photographing moving pictures. SOLUTION: The camera system provided with: the camera 25 wherein still picture photographing and moving picture photographing can be selected by an imaging element 28; a photographing optical system including a focus lens 4; and the lens apparatus 1 removably loaded to the camera, is provided with a focus detection means 31a using an output of the imaging element to detect a focus adjustment state of the photographing optical system; and focus control means 20, 31 for performing focus control to drive the focus lens on the basis of a result of detection by the focus detection means, and allows the focus control means to selectively perform the focus control for still picture photographing and the focus control for moving picture photographing.
