PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control apparatus with which remote control is performed in a single hand without the need for using another hand, while coping with multifunctional tendencies without the need for revising operation procedures of an existing remote control apparatus. SOLUTION: A remote control apparatus 100 is provided with: an upper chassis 101 on which selection keys 5 are arranged; a lower chassis 102 opposed to the upper chassis 101 and slid independently of the upper chassis 101; and a slide mechanism for sliding the upper chassis 101 and the lower chassis 102 in a horizontal direction.
