PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a front expandable rack without rotation in the stable state even if food is placed on a rear rack at the time of using the front expansible rack in a stored state in the rear rack. SOLUTION: In this refrigerator, a rail part 23 supporting a rack mounted in an inner case 5 is provided with a projecting part 24 and a cutout part 9. The front rack 22 is provided with a hook 8 positioned below the rail and a rib 11 mounted on the front. The hook 8 is positioned below the rail part 23 to prevent turning of the rear rack 3 in the abutting state of the rib 11 and the projecting part 24 when the front rack 22 is stored in the rear rack 3 at the back. The hook 8 is positioned in the cutout part 9 when the front rack 22 is moved backward so that the rib 11 gets over the projecting part 24. Thus, when the front rack 22 is stored in the rear rack 3 in use, floating and turning of the front rack 22 can be prevented so as to use the rack in the stable state. When the front rack 22 is further pushed in over the projecting part 24, the expandable rack 21 can be turned backward to improve the convenience in use. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
