PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a seal lip from being damaged by iron powder such as abrasive powder mixed in lubricating oil. SOLUTION: This bearing 1 for railway vehicle axle rotatably supporting the axile 10 of a railway vehicle comprises an inner ring 2 fitted to the axle 10, an outer ring 4 fitted to an axle box 20, a plurality of rolling elements 6 rollingly installed between the route of the inner ring 2 and the route of the outer ring 4, and a case 8 for holding the rolling elements 6 at equal intervals. An oil seal 38 is fitted to a stationary member 32 installed in the axle box 20, and the seal lip 36 of an oil seal 38 is allowed in slidable contact with a rotating member 12 fitted on the axle 10. A through hole 46 is provided at the lowermost part of a partition plate 40 so that the lubricating oil is not accumulated in a space between the partition plate 40 and the seal lip 36.
