PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier tape winding reel capable of enlarging space between deformed flanges, allowing a tape guide to surely be inserted into an automatic winding device, to provide a carrier tape automatic winding device capable of automatically winding a carrier tape even if the flange is deformed, and to provide the method. SOLUTION: Pin insert holes are bored in the flange of the carrier tape winding reel for inserting a pin for depressing inside surface of the opposing flange. A reel is loaded in a reel driving part of the carrier tape automatic winding device. Pin projecting means is arranged respectively in fore and aft positions of the reel corresponding to each pin insert hole provided in the tape reel guide proceeding side of the reel for enlarging the space between the both flanges by projecting a pin passing through the pin insert hole and depressing the inside surface of the opposing flange.
